PEAiCE project
Beginning
PEAiCE project idea
The PEAiCE project idea was developed in 2021 to review current physiotherapy practice across Intensive Care Units (ICU) in Europe.
The group of healthcare professionals working across Europe got together and discussed potential large, mostly unknown variations that exist across Europe with regard to the provision and practice of ICU physiotherapy. An international steering group has been established to co-develop a research project aimed at reaching wide range of physiotherapists, especially those from underrepresented regions.

International survey research
The PEAiCE project, led by an international steering group, developed and conducted a multi-country survey aiming to explore physiotherapy practice in intensive care units in various countries including Europe and Latin America
Sharing results and best practice awareness
By collecting data on physiotherapy practice, we hope to raise awareness of the physiotherapy scope of practice in ICU, highlight potential areas to improve provision and specialised best practice.
